Farrakhan addresses Nation of Islam in Chicago

Top NOI minister envisions 'universal' approach
March 1, 2009 (ROSEMONT, Ill.) The event commemorated the birth of master Wallace Fard Muhammad, the founder of the Nation of Islam.

The three-day convention included workshops, entertainment events, and Sunday, a keynote address from the Nation's leader, Min. Louis Farrakhan.

"We must not allow our people to live in a false world of euphoria. If we don't take on our shoulders the responsibility that God has placed on us to get up and do something for ourselves," Farrakhan said.

In addition to Minister Farrakhan, Sunday's speakers included recording artist and actor Calvin Broadus, better known to fans as Snoop Dogg.
