Future of Pontiac prison still uncertain

The future of the Pontiac State Prison could be settled by the end of the month. Last year, former Governor Rod Blagojevich ordered the facility closed, saying it would save money.

That plan is now on hold.

Pontiac mayor Scott McCoy says Governor Pat Quinn's chief of staff told him Quinn will make a decision on the prison within the month.

Quinn will deliver his budget proposal on March 18. That could reveal his plan on the future of the aging prison.
