Charity helps jobless keep furry friends

April 22, 2009 Free veterinary care will be provided to those who've fallen on hard times. The Anti-Cruelty Society is offering a single appointment free of charge. Pet owners must present proof of unemployment.

The organization has been flooded with animals surrendered because families can't afford to care for them. The Anti-Cruelty Society wants to give those dogs and cats another chance to stay in their homes.
