Special Olympics opening ceremonies at Soldier Field

The torch was lit Tuesday at Soldier Field for the 41st anniversary of the Special Olympics. The Spring Games Opening Ceremony drew a group of cheering fans and athletes.

The program allows athletes to show their abilities rather than their disabilities.

Thousands of athletes will compete in the games.

The first Special Olympics games were held at Soldier Field On July 20th, 1968.
