"Walk the Dinosaur" dance

July 3, 2009 An example of the dance can be found at http://www.evolutionla.com/fox-ia3-dinodance/. A group of young dancers from Chicago recently worked hard to learn all of the steps to this new dance.

The members of the Menomonee Club/Thodos Dance Chicago Youth Ensemble jumped at the chance to perform "Walk the Dinosaur." The Menomonee Club/Thodos Dance Chicago Youth Ensemble was formed in 2004 as a way for youth between the ages of 11-18 to study dance and develop their skills under the instruction of professionals from a prestigious contemporary dance company. Instructors from Thodos Dance Chicago (TDC), most of whom have advanced degrees in dance education and performance, actively mentor their students' development so that each dancer advances in technique, performance, and creativity throughout each year in a nurturing and enjoyable environment. Youth Ensemble members are selected by audition at the beginning of each academic school year in September from among the membership of the Menomonee Club for Boys and Girls.

The Youth Ensemble performs regularly in home season engagements of Thodos Dance Chicago, at TDC's annual Fire & Ice Fund-raising benefit, and is a featured guest performer at Kid's Korner at the Old Town Art Fair.
