Police say that White fled on foot and durig the chase, turned and fired a shot at officers.
The gun was later recovered in the 1500-block of South Lawndale, police say.
No injuries were reported.
Man charged with shooting at cops
July 10, 2009 (CHICAGO) Willie W. White, of DeKalb, was charged Wednesday with attempted first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and aggravated assault in the Monday incident. Officers say they responded to a call about a man with a gun in the 1500-block of South Ridgeway.
