Thousands turn out for ALS Walk

ABC7 Chicago's Tracy Butler hosted the eighth annual ALS Walk for Life Saturday morning at Montrose Harbor, and Frank Mathie also spoke to the crowd.Approximately 5,000 people took part in the two-mile walk, which honors people affected by Lou Gehrig's disease. ALS attacks a person's muscles,gradually robbing victims of the ability to walk, speak, eat and breathe.

There is currently no cure for the disease.
