Woman suspected in at least 26 burglaries, attempts

September 30, 2009 (ELMHURST, Ill.) Cora Rambert, of the 2700-block of North Sawyer, Chicago, si charged with breaking into office buildings and offices between October 2008 and April 2009.

Police say Rambert was captured on video during one incident, but remained unidentified until September 21. Elmhurst police say Rambert confessed to the crimes.

Police say Rambert was responsible for 26 commercial and attempted commercial burglaries; an auto theft - where a vehicle was taken across the street from one of the burglaries - and a 2006 office burglary where more than $20,000 was taken.

Police say Rambert has since been linked to burglaries in Oak Brook, Schaumburg, Lombard, Oak Brook Terrace, Highland Park and Chicago. She is currently being held in Cook County Jail on $150,000 bond.
