While union leaders are still negotiating about those concessions, Tyree says he's working to clarify his investment group's proposal. It has offered $26.5 million for the Sun-Times and 50 suburban newspapers.
"The proposal I put on the table in the beginning is one from my heart that I believe can allow this company to transform itself into something very successful. Maybe I made a mistake by putting that bluntly up in front," said Tyree.
On Thursday, the Sun-Times interim CEO will ask the bankruptcy court to approve the company's sale to Tyree's group.
