Prosecutors said he used a stolen car to run down Maine East High School student Edgardo De la Torre of Des Plaines at the Golf Mill Mall on November 28.
De la Torre had just turned 16.
He died after being removed from life support on December 1.
Police say the incident may have been the result of a dispute over a girl.
