Suburban high school tries to break Guinness record

Students and staff at a northwest suburban high school are hoping to set a world record while raising money for a good cause.Dundee-Crown high school in Carpentersville was full of superheroes today.

More than 1,400 people wore costumes in an attempt to break the current Guinness world record of 1000- 16 superheroes.

Guinness officials must certify the competition.

The event raised money for the community crisis center which helps families struggling with the poor economy.
