State weighs tougher cab-licensing rules

Cab drivers in Illinois may face tougher requirements if a new bill becomes law.The Illinois House voted unanimously Thursday to pass stricter licensing requirements.

The new rule would require cabbies to hold a drivers a license for at least three years, be at least 21-year-old, and have no serious traffic convictions for three years.

Mayor Daley calls the bill too far reaching.

The measure now moves to the Senate.
