Sgt. Alan Haymaker was responding to a burglary when his squad car crashed on Lake Shore Drive and he was killed early Monday.
Carlos Brown, 28, of Chicago, is charged with one count of burglary in connection with the case
Brown was wanted on two warrants out of Lake County. He turned himself in to police late Thursday night. He's being held on a $100,000 bond.
On Thursday, Larry Brown of Markham, was also charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor obstructing identification in connection to the same burglary.
