A correctional officer and a Chicago Public Schools teacher are scheduled to appear in court, charged in separate schemes to smuggle drugs into the Cook County Jail.

David Cambero, 61, is accused of accepting cocaine from an undercover officer after agreeing to deliver it to a detainee enrolled in his Spanish class at a school inside the jail.

In a separate incident, 33-year-old correctional officer Kenneth Crawford allegedly had a small amount of marijuana stuffed in his boot as he conducted rounds inside the jail.
