The Aon Corporation spent $1.7 million to support Chicago's failed Olympic bid, according to a newly released proxy of the insurance brokerage and consulting firm.

The total included the use of unoccupied space at company headquarters valued at nearly $1.6 million. Other costs came from consulting services related to the bid.

Olympic bid committee chairman Patrick Ryan built Aon and led Chicago's effort for the 2016 Summer Games.
