Work on I-290 causing major delays

The work on the Eisenhower Expressway is turning out to be a lot more frustrating than some commuters anticipated.

After just minor delays at the start of the project two weeks ago, some drivers are now reporting their commute has grown by more than two hours.

Twenty two miles of the inbound Ike have been prepped for the resurfacing project.

Crews are still closing lanes on the outbound side so the frustration is bound to grow even more.

There will be much more information about the impact of the construction project in Wednesday's Daily Herald.
