Tourist stabbed along Chicago River

A man is recovering from multiple stab wounds after he was attacked and robbed on the Riverwalk along the Chicago River. It happened just before 6 a.m. Saturday about 50 feet east of North Michigan Avenue.

The victim, who is in his 50s, tells police he was jogging when three men approached him, stole his wallet and stabbed him four times in the chest.

The man was in stable condition at Northwestern Memorial Saturday evening. ABC7 is told he is visiting from out of town and was staying at a nearby hotel.

No one was in custody Saturday night.
