A downtown Chicago landmark got a big birthday celebration Friday.

People gathered to sing "Happy Birthday" to the Michigan Avenue bridge. It turned 90 years old Friday.

The bridge is the most celebrated of Chicago's moveable bridges.

It was envisioned by architect Daniel Burnham in his 1909 plan of Chicago as a gateway between Chicago's north and south sides. It opened to a lot of fanfare and cannon fire on May 14, 1920.
