Fatty fish may help seniors keep their sight

July 23, 2010

Age-related macular degeneration, or AMD, results in loss of vision because of damage to the retina.

Researchers at Johns Hopkins analyzed data from over 2,500 adults and say they found a connection between a high intake of omega-3 fish and the odds of the disease.

Although there is no direct proof, researchers say it does provide further evidence that regular fish eaters tend to have lower rates of AMD.
