A CTA investigation finds that excessive lubricating grease, and debris on subway tracks, contributed to a fire on the Red Line June 20, 2010. Nineteen people were sent to a hospital.

The Better Government Association obtained a copy of the internal CTA report which says an electrical arc caused the fire near the Clark and Division station. It recommends using less lubricant on tracks, and clearing debris more often than the current weekly schedule.
