Another candidate for mayor faces ballot challenges

Another candidate for Chicago mayor, 27th Ward Alderman Walter Burnett, is now facing danger of being knocked off the ballot.

Aldermanic challenger Tom Courtney accuses Burnett of owing outstanding fines stemming from code violations at a pair of Chicago properties Burnett allegedly owns.

Burnett says he doesn't owe any money, arguing one fine at a property on West Fulton is actually owed by a concrete contractor. He says that company was fined for vibrations and making too much noise.

Burnett is chairman of the Chicago City Council's Black Caucus.
