Moseley Braun was reportedly late in paying property taxes on her Hyde Park home five of the last six times her bill was due.
Braun refused to give more details Friday morning when she was pressed further about how she handled her finances.
"We issued a statement, and the statement speaks for itself," said Braun, "and you guys are free to look at the statement. "You've got the returns. There's no more drilling down on this to do."
Published reports indicate that records show in the past three years she has paid more than $3,400 in penalties. Her taxes are now up to date.
Meanwhile, Braun is releasing more details of recent tax returns which show six-figure losses for her S Corporation, which bears her initials CMB One Corp.
Earlier this week, Braun refused to release details of her tax returns, but then reversed that decision.
"We issued a statement, and the statement speaks for itself," Braun said. "And you guys are free to look at the statement. You've got the returns. There's no more drilling down on this to do."
Braun did say that the losses she reported from her corporation were losses from her organic food company, Ambassador Organics. She explained her losses saying she started a business on the verge of a recession, and she suffered the consequences of doing that.
