Brookfield officials mulling lawsuit to impose zoo tax

January 10, 2011 (BROOKFIELD, Ill.)

The Senate passed it back in November and the House approved it over the weekend. It's on its way to Governor Quinn for his signature.

The village claims it has the authority to impose the 25-cent per ticket amusement tax on the zoo. The money is needed to help Brookfield with its budget.

Village officials are considering other options, including filing a lawsuit to impose the tax.
