A new cancer discovery brings to light a gene that promotes the spread of cancer within the body.

It's called the WWP2 gene and scientists say blocking this gene could help keep cancer in it's original site.

The research is detailed in the journal "Oncogene."

Scientists are hopeful this discovery will lead to new drugs that could stop the aggressive spread of most forms of the disease.
