The parents of a Chicago teenager who was shot to death at a birthday party are calling on witnesses to come forward to help solve the crime.

"If anyone can help, please help us to find the person who did this to our son," said Sonya Burke, mother.

The 18-year-old Devin Dyer had no gang affiliations, according to both his family and Chicago police. But gang violence claimed his life as he celebrated a friend's birthday.

It happened in the 5900 block of West Thomas Street Saturday night. Gunfire broke out inside the apartment, injuring three partygoers and killing Dyer.

"We have to bury our son and it's the hardest thing. Let us know who did this to him," said Cantrell Dyer, father.

Police have been questioning young men in the neighborhood.
