Nowruz Parade welcomes spring to Chicago

Hundreds of Chicagoans shook off Saturday's chilly weather and marched in the Nowruz Parade in the Loop.

The colorful procession included marching bands and floats.

The Nowruz Parade is a celebration of the vernal equinox, otherwise known as the seasonal changeover from winter to spring.

More than 3 million people celebrate the equinox worldwide.

Saturday's sunshine helped make the Chicago parade look nice but the cold temperatures made it feel a little like winter hasn't left yet.
