More than 80 students from Libertyville High School sang four songs during Sunday mass at St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.
The group is traveling with a tour group from Michigan, which helped to schedule the appearance.
Choir members are given the chance every two years to go on a trip at their own expense.
The choir also will perform hour-long concerts near Florence and Venice in Italy.
