Governor Pat Quinn stopped by a newly built, energy-efficient Walgreens in Oak Park to mark Earth Month in Illinois.

The building uses a geothermal energy system that will reduce the store's expected energy use by 60-percent.

Also the store features a level two electric vehicle charging station, which can add up to 25 miles of range per hour of charge. Walgreens plans to install charging stations at about 30 other Chicago area stores beginning this summer.

There are many other green features at the store, such as the polished concrete floors, which are made from recycled content to eliminate the use of vinyl flooring and saves on maintenance.
