A man convicted of running over a cab driver with his own taxi three times has been released on parole after six years in prison.

Michael l. Jackson was an employee of the Chicago Health Department. He was sentenced to 15 years behind bars in 2006 for the death of Haroon Paryani.

Jackson was accused of running over Paryani in February of 2005, during a dispute over a cab fare. He was convicted of second-degree murder and acquitted of first-degree murder.

Jackson was released Friday from Logan Correctional Center.
