'Honor Flight' of WWII vets visits DC memorial

They had to deal with some issues with their plane taking off, but a group of area World War II vets are now in Washington, D.C., visiting the National World War II Memorial.

It was the first flight of the year for the group known as "Honor Flight Chicago." That's a group that arranges for area veterans to visit the nation's capitol and take in memorials and sites of military significance.

The veterans had to return to the terminal this morning after their first take-off due to an issue in the cockpit. They boarded a different plane and were on their way.

The group is expected to return to Midway Airport Wednesday night.
