Cook County officials announced the openings of the county's three pools Friday at the Cermak Aquatic Center in southwest suburban Lyons.
In March, a report found that same center's employee's had been skimming money and engaging in abusive behavior. Since then, disciplinary action was taken, the pools have been staffed with highly trained personnel and equipped with surveillance, and financial accounting systems to prevent future misconduct.
To celebrate the opening season, admission to the pools will be free both this Saturday and Sunday.
