$3M bail for man charged in 1957 death of girl

July 4, 2011 (SEATTLE)

Bail was set at $3 million for 71-year-old Jack Daniel McCullough. He was charged Friday with killing Maria Ridulph, 7, of Sycamore, Ill., in 1957.

She was abducted while playing with a friend. McCullough lived in Sycamore at the time but later moved to Seattle.

McCullough was supposed to be in court on Saturday, but the appearance was canceled after he was taken to a hospital.

Details of his hospital visit have not been released.

The lawyer who represented McCullough Monday said he doesn't acknowledge that he's the man that the state says he is. McCullough is due back in court on Wednesday.
