The City of Chicago reportedly plans to crackdown on unlicensed dogs, which could generate revenue.

Nearly 28,000 dog licenses were issued, less than 5 percent of the estimated 560,000 dogs in the city. A crackdown could provide another revenue stream for the cash strapped city.

Licenses cost $5 for a neutered dog and $50 for dogs that are not neutered.

Violators could face fines between $50 and $200.
