Andreas Mitisek will begin work on Chicago Opera Theatre's future season on January 1st.
Mitisek will take over as the general director on September 1st of next year.
He replaces Brian Dickie.
For the past six years, he has served as artistic and general director of the Long Beach Opera in California.
