Talks were scheduled to resume Monday afternoon in the Zion-Benton Township teachers strike.

The teachers in Zion-Benton District 126 went on strike Thursday.

Teachers and support staff have been working without a contract since July.

The two sides did meet for talks Friday but have not reached an agreement.

A time for more negotiations has not been set. The key issues in the negotiations are salaries and the cost of health insurance.

The strike impacts nearly 3,000 students.
