According to police, the driver of a Honda CR-V was speeding south on Milwaukee Avenue in the wrong direction, passed a squad car, then crashed into two vehicles.
"Significant damage to the vehicles. The four people were transported to hospitals, area hospitals. One person is in critical condition right now," said Lincolnshire Police Det. Adam Hyde said.
Three others involved in the crash were treated and released from the hospital.
There was no immediate word on what caused the crash.
