The mother of a woman killed by a hit-and-run driver in south suburban Dolton says her daughter was walking home when she was hit.

Kosetta Ratliff, 39, was killed early Sunday morning along the 300-block of E. Sibley Boulevard.

Her mother, Camelia Gilmore, told ABC7 Monday night that Ratliff was a hairdresser and was coming home from her aunt's house when she was killed.

She also says police are talking to a person of interest.

"An incident can happen to anybody at any time. I'm hoping she wasn't targeted," said Gilmore.

An autopsy Monday showed Ratliff died of multiple injuries suffered on impact from the minivan.
