A big change will be coming to some Illinois courtrooms: The state Supreme Court has decided to start allowing cameras and recorders in court.

In announcing the decision, Chief Justice Kilbride said, "This is another step to bring more transparency and more accountability to the Illinois court system."

Jennifer Fuller, president of the Illinois News Broadcasters Association reacted, saying, "We are very excited about working with the court to show we aren't talking about a huge intrusion in the process."

Joining us to discuss this matter on this edition of NewsViews are Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans from the Circuit Court of Cook County and Loyola University journalism professor and former TV reporter Beth Konrad.
