The Archdiocese of Chicago is offering to pay for up to 300 burials for the bodies currently being held at the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart days the offer from Catholic cemeteries would bear no cost to the county.

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle ordered an overhaul at the morgue after a number of bodies were found stacked up there.

Officials say the number of bodies requiring burials will dictate the locations. Some will be buried at Mount Olivet in Chicago.
