At least 10 ambulances were called to the scene.
Fire officials say a 79-year-old woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Another patient was taken to a hospital in good condition. Three other people were examined at the scene.
Firefighters put out the fire shortly after it broke out just after 2 p.m. It was contained to the first floor but caused smoke damage to the entire three-story building.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
