People paid their last respects to her at her funeral at Van Buren Baptist Church in Gary.
Hall died monday from an undisclosed illness. She was 73 years old.
Hall was a state senator when she was appointed in 1982 to complete the term of Congressman Adam Benjamin after his death.
She also served as Gary's city clerk from 1988 until 2003 when she pleaded guilty to extorting money from her staff.
