Cameras that record speeding have caused plenty of controversy in Chicago, but it turns out things could be worse.

The wireless app Trapster has a list of the cities with the most speed traps, including red light cameras.

Trapster relies on users to submit information about speed traps and road hazards, then shares it with other users.

Chicago comes in No. 8 on the list. According to this particular report, Chicago is among the top when it comes to the number of red light cameras in use.

When it comes to all kinds of speed traps, Austin, Tex. is No. 10, followed by Colorado Springs, Colo., then Chicago, Orlando and St. Louis.

In the top five is Washington, Las Vegas, Houston, Los Angeles and New York City. Trapster says New York has 451 traffic enforcement cameras.
