Unroasted coffee beans may spur weight loss

March 28, 2012 (CHICAGO)

According to new research from the University of Scranton, scientists found that 16 overweight men and women lost an average of 17 pounds over a 22-week span. They took unroasted coffee beans in supplement form. Study participants did not change their diet, although they were physically active.

The study was funded by Applied Food Sciences, which makes the green coffee antioxidant supplement. Researchers say further study is needed.
