Eating too quickly may raise diabetes risk

Researchers found people who gobble down their food were 2 1/2 times more likely to have diabetes than those who take their time while eating.

Study participants with diabetes were also more likely to have a higher body mass index and to have much lower levels of education than those without diabetes.

This small preliminary study was presented this week at the Joint Endocrinology meeting in Italy.
