According to IDOT, a semi carrying sheet metal lost some of its load. The metal sheets were blocking at least two of the inbound local lanes as of 3:20 p.m., forcing much of the traffic into the express lanes.
A private company is putting the sheet metal back on the semi and IDOT hopes to open the lanes as soon as possible.
