Looking at pictures of hamburgers, cupcakes and other high-calorie foods can trigger cravings for fattening foods. A new study says that's especially true if you are drinking something sweet at the time.

University of Southern California researchers found that drinking a sugary beverage while viewing these foods activates appetite and reward centers in the brain. That could play a role in obesity.

This research looked at how the brain responds to cues and how that increases hunger and desire for certain foods.

Scientists say this discovery of the stimulation of the brain's reward areas may have important health implications.
