Chicago alderman leaning in favor of Prentice Women's Hospital demolition

Alderman Brendan Reilly says he is leaning toward allowing Northwestern to tear down the old Prentice Women's Hospital.

It is the first time the 42nd Ward alderman has taken a position on the issue.

Aldermen normally control building matters inside their wards.

Northwestern wants to replace Prentice with a new biomedical research facility.

Preservationists are opposed to the teardown. Reilly says he is still open to alternatives.
