Duckworth, Walsh tussle in final debate

October 18, 2012 (CHICAGO)

The meeting on WTTW was the last debate between Republican Congressman Joe Walsh and Democrat Tammy Duckworth.

Each briefly went against the grain.

Walsh said he's willing to compromise with Democrats on some things and Obama loyalist Duckworth said there are serious flaws in Obamacare.

Then they went at it over Medicare.

"He wants to put seniors out on the street with a voucher and he wants to go even further than the Ryan budget," Duckworth said. "He wants to eliminate the prescription drug benefit."

"If we don't end it as it is it's going to end as we know it all by itself," Walsh said. "We won't preserve it for future generations."

Walsh charged that Democrats redrew the district to benefit Duckworth.

She accused him of saying she'd overplayed her military service to get elected.
