Suspect arrested in Naperville hospital theft

December 1, 2012 (NAPERVILLE, Ill.)

Police say they responded to a call of theft at the hospital, located at 801 S. Washington Street, on Thursday.

Hospital officials told police a man had fled in a maroon 1998 Ford Explorer after stealing items from employees and patients.

The vehicle was registered to the alleged suspect, Tyrese K. Watson, 27, of the 5900-block of South Throop in Chicago, according to police.

They say Watson drove to a gas station in the area of Washington and Gartner, where he used a stolen credit card to purchase the gas and cigarettes. Watson then left the area.

Detectives later observed Watson in the 7300-block of S. Cicero Avenue in Bedford Park, using stolen credit cards to purchase gift cards at a local business.

Watson was arrested with the assistance of the Bedford Park Police Department. He was charged with burglary and taken to the DuPage County Jail, where he awaits a bond hearing.

Police said stolen proceeds from the burglary were located in the suspect's vehicle.
