December 17, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Also sworn in were 41 sergeants and five commanders who have new jobs.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and police superintendent Garry McCarthy were hand for the ceremony.

"Today is a great day for our graduating class," McCarthy said. "You're always going to remember today. It's an amazing accomplishment for everybody here, whether it be a graduate, promotees or me. The fact is, I'm so proud of all of you."

McCarthy thanked them for choosing what he says is not a job or profession, but a calling.
